The below documents and information will be required in order to complete the KYC verification process for your Organization.
Pro Tip: If you file your taxes for your business under an EIN (Employer Identification Number), you are an Organization. If you file your taxes with an SSN (Social Security Number), you are a Sole Proprietor. This article describes the documentation needed to verify an Organization. Click here to learn more about the documents needed for sole proprietors.
Note: To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person (individual or entity) who opens an account and certain individuals who are associated with an account.
Because of this, Webconnex Payments will ask for your name, address, taxpayer identification number, and other information to identify you when you open an account. This information must be verified before you receive your first payout.

Business Setup
To start the KYC process, select whether you are a Sole Proprietorship, Company, or Partnership.
Sole Proprietorship: You're a registered sole proprietor, and you use a bank account in your name or sole proprietorship's name
Company: Your business is registered as a separate legal entity from its owners
Partnership, or Association: You're an individual or company, and you use a bank account in the name of a partnership, or association
Pro Tip: Most non-profits should choose Company as their Business Setup type. During the verification process, you'll then be able to indicate your non-profit status in the Company Details section.
Only choose the Partnership, or Association option only if you're an individual or company, and your bank account is registered under the name of a formal partnership or association. This arrangement is relatively uncommon and doesn't apply to most non-profits.
Note: If you are a government agency, we recommend selecting the Company option, and indicating that you are part of the government later in the Company Details section.
Company Details
When completing the Know Your Customer (KYC) process for a company or association, Webconnex Payments will ask for some information about your organization. Here are the questions Webconnex Payments asks under the Company Details section.
Country where your business is located
Legal name of the company - Enter the name exactly as it appears on your Secretary of State Registration
Select your Company Structure
Private Company: Owned privately. The shareholders don't necessarily trade on public exchanges (like the stock market)
Public Company: Owned by the public shareholders. They're also required to disclose financial information to the public
Incorporated partnership: An agreement between two or more people who run a business together
Non-profit or charitable organization: An organization that has an official status as not for profit or tax exempt, sometimes called an NGO
Governmental organization: Owned by the government or state
Incorporated association: A registered entity without profit that's organized around a purpose such as recreation, culture or a charity
Enter the DBA (Doing Business As) name or mark you do business as your legal company name
Enter EIN (Employer Identification Number)
Enter the Address as it appears on your Secretary of State Registration documentation
NOTE: If you selected that you are a Public Company, you will be asked to provide the following registration details:
DBA (Doing Business As) name or mark you do business as your legal company name
Market identifier code (MIC)
International Securities Identification Number (ISIN)
Pro Tip: Under Company Details, you will be required to add tax documentation about your company. Here are some recommended tax documents you can use for verification.
NOTE: You cannot use a W9 or another document that you sent to the IRS with your Organization Name and EIN. The document used for verification must be sent from the IRS.
For a Company with an EIN
IRS CP 575 (EIN Determination Letter)
Your tax return
A document issued by the IRS that has your Company Name and EIN
For a Nonprofit
Form 990
A 501c3 letter where the IRS acknowledges your tax-exempt status
Note: Sometimes, Webconnex Payments will ask for a registration document that is distinct from a tax document. This occurs most often for non-profits and Canadian organizations.
Generally, the registration document is used to confirm a non-profit's status. We recommend uploading a 501c3 if you are a non-profit. If you don't have a 501c3, we recommend uploading a document from the Secretary of State confirming that you are a non-profit.
Decision Makers
You will be asked to provide the information of the owners, controlling persons, and signatories in your company. Keep in mind that one person may hold multiple roles.
Required Decision-Makers for Verification
Pro Tip: You must add at least 1 controlling person and at least 1 signatory for your organization.
You only need to add an owner if your company has individuals who hold more than 25% of your company. If you don't have any owners, you do not need to add an owner.
Controlling person - Provide 1 controlling person - The controlling person is someone authorized to make major business decisions. They may or may not be an owner.
Owner - Add all owners holding 25% or more of your company - Owners are those who own 25% or more of the company, through voting rights, equity or similar.
Signatory - Add at least 1 signatory - Is someone who has been given authority to sign official documents on behalf of the company. usually a signatory is also an owner or a controlling person.
Note: One individual can hold more than one role. For example, if you have one individual who is both a controlling person and signatory, you can add them in both roles.
If this is the case, we recommend adding one person, and then checking all of the roles that this person holds.
